BMW Reports December and Year-End Sales Results
Recently, BMW Group announced that the company had seen United States sales increase in the month of December, 2017. During the month, 34,253 BMW vehicles were sold throughout the country, a 4.3 percent increase over the 32,835 vehicles sold in December of 2016. For the entirety of 2017, BMW sold 305,685 vehicles in the United States.
BMW lays credit for the month's performance at the wheels of the BMW 5 Series, which sold 4,743 vehicles in December for a sales increase of 124 percent. Additionally, the BMW X5 gained 10 percent on 6,847 vehicles sold, while the BMW X1 improved 6.4 percent with 4,454 vehicles sold.
Consumer demand for BMW Certified Pre-Owned vehicles was strong throughout the year, with 135,864 vehicles delivered for a gain of 5.2 percent over 2016 results.
In a press release, Bernhard Kuhnt, President and CEO, BMW of North America, commented, "Momentum has been building throughout 2017 and the December results have put us in a strong position for the New Year. Our BMW models are attracting entirely new customers to our dealerships, especially the BMW 5 Series, X models, and our electrified vehicles. There’s much more to come in 2018 with the next new model – the BMW X2 – premiering at the Detroit Auto Show in less than two weeks."
